Hi, I'm Barbara, a Environmental Hiking Guide in love with the Liguria. Born in Genoa, I have a deep connection with my city, even though I now live in Spotorno, a place that brings back memories of summers spent here as a child.

Before becoming a guide, the most important work experience for me was in the Training Office of Costa Cruises. Life then took me for a few years to Germany, and it was here that I took my first steps in this work.

Ever since I was a child, walking through forests and mountains gave me great emotions and the joy of making me feel part of something great and magnificent, but also unique and to be protected.

So at some point I felt a strong desire to change my life and pursue a path that was more congenial to me. My great passion for nature became a job and I became an Environmental Hiking Guide.

Being a guide is a true vocation: I love to share knowledge about our area and the stories that enliven it.

In addition to hiking, I lead tours in kayak e snorkeling in the Marine Protected Area of the Island of Bergeggi, offering participants authentic contact with the sea and promoting the conservation of marine biodiversity.

Whether you wear hiking shoes or a mask and snorkel makes little difference: the sea and the mountains are two expressions of the same passion.

La Liguria is a treasure trove of history, art, and traditions, and I am excited to explore it with you!

My name is Elena, I was born in Chieri, prov. of Turin, but I have always been in love with Liguria. Like many people from Piedmont I used to spend my vacations in Spotorno and then, as soon as I had the chance, I moved and now I have been living and working here since 2003, specifically in  Bergeggi, ne The Gulf of the Island, exactly where I want to take you to discover our villages with their rich history and wonderful trails.

My experience in the tourism industry began as tour leader. I became licensed after graduating in Economics from the University of Turin and started working for some tour operators specializing in coach travel in Europe. Later I also worked with agencies specializing in overseas travel, and since 2010 I have dedicated myself mainly to travel in Northern Europe. Among the various destinations I fell in love with Iceland and since 2016 I still continue to work in this extraordinary island.

Subsequently, I took the qualification as Environmental Hiking Guide with the goal of working especially in Liguria by developing the area of nature and cultural walks in the wonderful Ligurian hinterland, where one encounters charming villages far from mass tourism.

In 2021 I qualified as a National Guide and I can finally accompany you to discover the beauty of my favorite destinations: Liguria, Langhe and the French Riviera, telling you not only about their history and culture, but more importantly helping you discover the essence of these territories that I like so much. I am waiting for you!

They are Valerio, I have a degree in Literature and work as a tour guide in the provinces of Genoa, Savona and Imperia. I am a tour guide in French and Spanish. Passionate about local history, I have collected and studied documents related to the history of Varigotti preserved in the Historical Archives of the Municipality of Finale Ligure and the State Archives of Savona, Genoa and Turin. With Mario Berruti I published the research Varigotti: the disturbing events of the mid-nineteenth century. With Marco Tommassini I wrote the Guide to the Four Villages - Noli, Varigotti,Finalborgo and Borgio Verezzi - , published in four languages. I am the author of historical texts for panels located on the paths of Varigotti and for the map Varigotti and its paths (produced by the associations Varigotti Insieme and Costa Balenae - Le Tre Terre). By studying ancient cadastral maps, I reconstructed the appearance of the agrarian landscape of Varigotti between the 18th and 19th centuries ; I identified the ancient network of trails and georeferenced it by comparing it with the current one.

Being a tour guide involves not only having historical-artistic skills, but above all knowing how to tell the story and being empathetic with ever-changing audiences. My goal is to offer unique emotional experiences through my connection with my homeland and knowledge of the Savona area and Liguria from an artistic, architectural, landscape, historical, cultural and food and wine point of view. I love introducing people to the hidden beauty of Genoa and its labyrinth of caruggi and fascinating crēuze. Conveying the beauty of Liguria, is one of the most beautiful aspects of our work, as well as capturing in the souls the amazement of those who do not expect the variety of riches that are unveiled, sharing their emotions together!

My name is Rita and I am an escort and tour guide by profession, specializing in the Riviera di Ponente, a strip of land dominated by light and color, a land rich in history, art and traditions.

I started this work almost by accident right after graduation, when I was very young, but already with the knowledge that I had found my path.

The first few years I worked as an employee of the Ligurian Association of Hoteliers, the Ligurian Riviera Tourism Promotion Consortium, and the Spotorno Hotel, for which I was in charge of the events package for groups staying in Spotorno in the winter, and that's when, almost by accident, I got on a bus to accompany on excursions to Portofino, San Remo, and the principality of Monaco. Those were years when licenses did not yet exist, and I consider myself fortunate to have started and then been able to pursue a profession that I love and that is so rewarding.

I was born in Turin and fondly remember the little rides I used to take in my dad's cab; unfortunately, he didn't take me often because I talked too much with his customers. Deep down I had already figured out what job I would like to do. When I was a child we moved to Spotorno in Il Golfo dell'Isola, I am Ligurian by adoption and have a strong connection with the area.

Liguria is full of beautiful villages, both along the Riviera and inland, and being a tour guide has enriched me and pushed me to study its history and its architectural, artistic and cultural heritage. I always try to convey my passion and enthusiasm to visitors, who want to know its monuments but also its soul.

I end with a phrase from a poem by Vincenzo Cardarelli, which I love and use often with visitors

Is Liguria a graceful land...

Or churches of Liguria, like ships
Willing to be launched!
